49.º FIMUV - Festival Internacional de Música de Paços de Brandão

About

FIMUV is the International Music Festival of Paços de Brandão, created in 1977 by CiRAC - Círculo de Recreio, Arte e Cultura de Paços de Brandão. It is one of Portugal's oldest music festivals and now reaches its 49th edition, which extends for almost two months and occupies several spaces in Santa Maria da Feira. The programme crosses opera, early music, piano and cello recitals, cinema, video mapping and stage music. The Lyric Gala brings together the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra and Ukrainian soprano Olga Kulchynska at Europarque. The international quartet Salut Salon presents "Heimat - Céu que Trazemos Dentro de Nós" at Cineteatro António Lamoso. Sofia Escobar, Ricardo Afonso and Orchestra 3eFes take the stage with "Broadway & Cinema in Concert". There are also recitals with award-winning young musicians and concerts at the Academy of Music and in local churches. The festival closes with Puccini's opera Turandot, in a show in partnership with Operafest, designed for audiences of various generations.
