Águeda is Natal is the Christmas programme of the city of Águeda, which transforms the streets into a scene of light and decoration for approximately two months, from 14 November 2026 to 10 January 2027. The most well-known figure is the World's Largest Santa Claus, a structure about 21 metres high, installed at Largo 1.º de Maio and illuminated by more than 250 thousand LED lights. Alongside it is the World's Smallest Santa Claus, a miniature that fits in the eye of a needle. The suspended umbrellas that characterise the streets of Águeda are given their own illumination and become part of the Christmas decoration. The programme also includes street entertainment and family activities, in an event that is also a showcase for local commerce.
