About
"António Acorda António" is a recital-lecture that accompanies the reconstruction of a six-course Iberian guitar, an instrument from the late eighteenth century. The proposal combines music and technical explanation: you hear the instrument and understand how it is born. Tiago Matias, lutenist and interpreter of ancient instruments, plays the reconstructed guitar. Orlando Trindade, luthier, explains the construction work and the choices that make it possible to restore the sound of a guitar from more than two centuries ago. The session takes place in Igreja dos Carmelitas and is part of the 22nd edition of Festivais de Outono of the Universidade de Aveiro, which this year has the theme "Música +" and explores the relationship between music and other areas. Admission is free, subject to room capacity.
