About
"Art", by Yasmina Reza, is a comedy about friendship and vanity. Premiered in Paris in 1994, it became an international phenomenon. In this Portuguese version, directed by António Pires, Cristóvão Campos, Nuno Lopes and Rui Melo embody three long-time friends. Everything begins with the purchase of an entirely white painting, with white stripes, signed by a highly acclaimed contemporary artist. Sérgio decides to buy it. Marco does not hide his disbelief. Ivo tries, without much success, to keep the peace. What seemed like a simple difference in taste becomes a battle of egos, resentments and hilarious revelations. Amidst laughter, silences and tensions, the play portrays adult friendships and the difficulty in accepting other points of view. It lasts approximately 60 minutes and entry is not permitted for children under 3 years old.
