Axiom Casino

About

Axiom Casino is a dance piece for two performers, Ana Isabel Castro and Deeogo Oliveira, set inside a casino machine, where every gesture is read and controlled. Guided by voices, the two players enter a luminous game of commands, rewards and errors, which gradually transforms into a trap. Midway through the game, an unexpected entity interrupts the machine's logic. The human form dissolves and a communication between species begins. Direction and choreography are by Jonathan Uliel Saldanha, who also signs the dramaturgy, text and musical creation with Gonçalo Guiomar, Catarina Miranda and Gonçalo Penas. Sound, light, video, objects and prosthetics are part of the construction of this universe of screens and signals. Production is by SOOPA, in co-production with the DDD - Dias da Dança festival. It is presented at Caixa de Palco of Teatro Aveirense.
