Broadway & Cinema in Concert
About
A concert that brings together cinema music with the great musicals of Broadway and the West End. The 3 eFes Orchestra, conducted by André Lousada, is accompanied by two reference voices of Portuguese musical theatre, Sofia Escobar and Ricardo Afonso. The programme features themes that have passed from stages and screens into the memory of several generations: from the romanticism of Come What May to the energy of The Show Must Go On, from the elegance of La Califfa to Never Enough. There are also duets such as Barcelona, Tonight and As Long As You're Mine, and the orchestra performs Cinema Paradiso as a solo. The concert takes place without an interval. The 3 eFes Orchestra was born with a strong pedagogical mission and brings together students from the three official music schools in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira: the Academia de Música de Paços de Brandão, the Academia de Música de Santa Maria da Feira and the Conservatório de Música Terras de Santa Maria. It works in partnership with FIMUV. It is a concert for those who love musicals, cinema and seeing young musicians alongside experienced soloists.
