About
Little Red Riding Hood is a musical reinterpretation of the classic tale by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm, brought to the stage by Jangada Teatro with classical music ensembles from Art'J. It is part of MI – Festival de Música e Criatividade Infantil de Albergaria-a-Velha. The story follows Little Red Riding Hood as she challenges the boundaries of the path laid out for her, to speak of growth, curiosity and the value of the choices we make. There are original songs and dialogue full of sensitivity, in a performance that crosses theatre and live music. The forest comes to life with philosophical squirrels, wise owls, poetic deer and a wolf of treacherous elegance, with masks, puppetry and scenography built for the play. The text and direction are by Vítor Fernandes, and the composition and musical direction by Sara Soares Machado. Designed for child audiences and those accompanying them, it lasts one hour.
