In this cine-concert, the Orquestra Clássica de Espinho, conducted by maestro Cesário Costa, performs live the music of two animated shorts while the films are projected. The programme brings together "Pedro e o Lobo", with music by Sergei Prokofiev and directed by Suzie Templeton, an Oscar-winning film, and "The Snowman", with a soundtrack by Howard Blake and film by Dianne Jackson. Two very well-known stories from world animation, in which the orchestra ceases to be a background and accompanies each scene in real time. The show is part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Cinanima, the international animation film festival of Espinho, and was designed for the whole family: it is a good gateway to the sound of an orchestra, for both children and adults.
