Book presentation of Emigration in the Municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha (1830-1920), by Teresa Cruz Tubby, organized by the Municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha to mark International Migration Day. The session is open to the entire community. The work is based on passport records preserved in the District Archives of Aveiro and Porto. Based on these, the author analyzes departures from the municipality and its parishes over ninety years, between 1830 and 1920. The book seeks to deepen knowledge about Portuguese emigration in the mid-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with particular attention to Albergaria-a-Velha. It brings together useful tools for future research and opens new perspectives for analysis. It interests those who enjoy local history, genealogy and the memory of migrations.
