Mariana Alvim, RFM radio host and author of the book podcast "Vale a Pena", presents "O amor que escolhemos", her first novel for adults, published by Porto Editora in July 2026. Before this book, she wrote the young adult collection "Os Fininhos". The novel follows Laura, Victoria and Catarina, three women connected by a genuine friendship, even if they sometimes forget it. Amid fears, insecurities and stumbles, comes the moment to admit that something has to change. The book addresses toxic families, workplace relationships and long marriages, and looks at friendship as a form of love that one chooses. The session is part of the "Encontro com Letras" cycle at Albergaria-a-Velha Municipal Library. It takes the form of an informal conversation between the author and readers, and is free to enter. It serves both those who already follow her work on radio and podcast and those looking for a contemporary novel about friendship.
