Exposição comemorativa dos 140 anos da fundação da Sucursal das Devesas
About
The exhibition "A Shared History: Devesas and Pampilhosa – 140 years of heritage, work and memory (1886–2026)" commemorates the founding of the Devesas Branch in Pampilhosa and the significance that ceramics held in the life of the village. It was organized by GEDEPA, the Ethnographic Group for the Defence of Heritage and Environment of the Pampilhosa Region. The exhibition brings together objects preserved by the group and by private individuals, photographs, drawings and documents. It also includes material from the Gaia Municipal Archive, from the exhibition marking the 150th anniversary of the Gaia factory, and a double bass donated by the Pampilhosa Philharmonic Society, which came from the band of the former factory. The exhibition addresses work, collective memory and a building that is now in ruins. It will interest those who know Pampilhosa and those who want to understand how the ceramic industry shaped the territory. During the months the exhibition is on display, other initiatives will take place, including testimonies from former factory workers.
