Fantasie Minor

Fantasie Minor is a dance performance by Portuguese choreographer Marco da Silva Ferreira, premiered in 2022, featuring two dancers on stage: Anka Postic and Chloé Robidoux. Both have experience in urban dance and occupy the stage like those conquering an empty space, assuming their contradictions with defiant postures, curved backs and open legs. The music is the Fantasia in F minor by Franz Schubert, in a sound creation by Rui Lima and Sérgio Martins based on the recording of two pianists. The spiral notes serve as play for the performers, who follow the rhythm with shoulders and legs and advance into a pas de deux that is both fraternal and competitive, made of lifts, slides, piqués and deformed pointe work. Marco da Silva Ferreira lightens the weight of the bodies, of the music and of the codes of classical dance and hip hop, and proposes new variations and a space for sharing open to various sensibilities. From fragile attempts to virtuous absurdities, another vision of grace emerges. The performance is part of the Fusão Cycle, dedicated to performing arts, visual arts and contemporary thought.
