The Chestnut Fair brings the Chestnut of Castelões to the center of São Pedro de Castelões Square, in Vale de Cambra, over an autumn weekend. It is organized by the Parish Council of São Pedro de Castelões and the Municipality of Vale de Cambra. The programme brings together gastronomy, local products, crafts, animals, music and entertainment, with offerings for the whole family. The local chestnut, known for its ease of peeling and characteristic flavour, is the theme of a fair that brings producers and consumers closer together and showcases products related to its use. The event also aims to encourage the recovery of chestnut tree cultivation, in work linked to the Chestnut and Chestnut Tree Promotion Project, launched in 2021. In the 2025 edition, 750 chestnut trees were delivered to 16 producers in the municipality, and 38 restaurants incorporated chestnuts into their menus.
