From Longing to Freedom is the concert presented by Quartet Parnaso with narrator Estefânia Surreira at the Café Concerto of the Centro de Artes de Águeda, part of the Autumn Festivals. The performance arises from the project Cinco Zecas, dedicated to recreating the work of Zeca Afonso for guitar quartet. Now the repertoire extends to other Portuguese music authors, such as Carlos Paredes, Madredeus, Trindade and Armandinho, crossing generations and different sounds. The voice of Estefânia Surreira joins the guitars and emerges in the silences between the pieces, where music and spoken poetry intertwine. Between longing and freedom, the programme traces a journey made of word and music, in an intimate format that invites careful listening.
