Homúnculo

Homúnculo is a contemporary circus duet created and performed by Rafael Gonzalez and George Swattridge (Portugal/United Kingdom), presented here in open rehearsal format, ahead of the premiere scheduled for December 2026. The session is part of European Circus Night. On stage, two bodies explore the space between them through hand balancing, dance and neutral mask techniques. They alternate between connection and separation, and test how they find and help each other. The piece speaks to the struggle for communication and cohabitation in a place where isolation is the norm, and stems from a question: what happens when the last two creatures in the world meet in the same place? The show is a co-production by Bussola and Outdoor Arts Portugal, with outside eye from Antonio Gonzalez. It is suitable for ages 3 and up and allows you to see work still in construction.
