Imaginarius 2027

Imaginarius is an international festival of performing arts in public spaces that occupies streets, squares and parks in the historic center of Santa Maria da Feira. The program brings together circus, theater, dance, music, performance and other forms of expression, with proposals designed to engage with the city and diverse audiences. Access is free. The 2027 edition stems from an international call that received 1200 applications from artists in 84 countries, an unprecedented number for the festival. From these proposals, 18 projects will be selected, highlighting emerging creators and works of contemporary and experimental language, with unconventional approaches to public space. Artistic direction is led by Bruno Costa and Daniel Vilar. The program also includes premieres of projects by finalists and recent graduates of international circus schools, as well as a workshop open to the community. It is a festival for those who want to discover new voices in artistic creation, outdoors and without an admission fee.
