In Colors Project 4
Skin: Território de Liberdade
About
Collective photography exhibition that explores skin as surface, memory, language and space of identity. It brings together 50 images from authors from 23 countries, selected from thousands of submissions from 106 countries. The theme is treated as more than documentary record: skin emerges as a frontier between the person and the world, where marks, gestures, desire and intimacy are left behind. This is the fourth edition of In Colors Project, an international initiative by the artistic platform Lumicroma, developed in partnership with Centro de Arte de São João da Madeira. The curation is by Sandra Maria Teixeira, founder of Lumicroma. The jury evaluated the photographs without knowing the identity of the authors, so the selection brings together recognized, emerging and unknown names. The exhibition appeals to those who enjoy contemporary photography and diverse perspectives on the body. It can be visited until October 24.
