Lambchop - An Evening with Lambchop
About
Lambchop are one of the major references in American songwriting of recent decades. Formed in the late 1980s and early 1990s, they have Kurt Wagner as a constant figure in a lineup that has kept changing. They started in alt country, but have always resisted categorization, building a very distinctive discography. "An Evening with Lambchop" is a more stripped-down and intimate format, in which Wagner appears accompanied by musician and producer Andrew Broder, from Minneapolis. Wagner's voice and songwriting remain at the centre, while Broder adds textures and electronics. The songs, old and new, open themselves up to improvisation and can change from one night to the next. The concert comes shortly after the release of the album "Punching The Clown" (City Slang, 2026), recorded with Broder, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) on banjo and a choir. It serves both those who already follow the band and those discovering it now.
