About

Lata 65 is an urban art workshop designed for people over 65 years old. It was born in 2012, in Covilhã, at the WOOL festival, on the initiative of Lara Seixo Rodrigues. Since then it has passed through several Portuguese cities and also Spain, Brazil and the United States. In Águeda it is conducted by Mistaker Maker, the artistic intervention platform from Lisbon that continues the project. Participants experience techniques such as stencil and spray, and contact with urban art takes place in a real working environment. No experience is necessary: the idea is that anyone who has never held a paint can can explore their creativity, socialize and see their work take shape in public space. The workshop runs over two afternoons and is part of the Senior Month program of the Municipality of Águeda, dedicated to active ageing and cultural participation.
