Laureados do Prémio Frederico de Freitas: Alexander Stretile & Victor Canto (piano)
Part of Festivais de Outono da Universidade de Aveiro 2026 (22.ª edição)
About
Two young pianists, two recitals, one concert. Alexander Stretile and Victor Canto are the 2026 winners of the Frederico de Freitas Award for Performance, an initiative by the Department of Communication and Art at the University of Aveiro that recognises artistic excellence among its music students. Stretile takes the first part, with Liszt's Sonata in B minor. Canto takes the second, with Prokofiev's Sonata No. 6. Each presents their own path and interpretive vision, in a programme that brings the audience closer to two demanding works in the piano repertoire. The concert is part of the 22nd edition of the Autumn Festivals of the University of Aveiro, dedicated to the theme "Music +", which explores the relationships between music and other arts. It lasts approximately one hour, with no interval, and is aimed at ages 6 and over.
