LEME

About

LEME is a contemporary circus festival dedicated to artistic creation and programming in unconventional spaces. It returns to Ílhavo with an edition that stems from the tension between duration and ephemerality: circus emerges as a language capable of making visible risk, balance and the presence of the body in space, in an unrepeatable encounter between artists and audience. More than a succession of performances, the festival proposes a different rhythm, with time to listen, inhabit the space and remain in the instant. Each proposal is conceived as a shared experience, in which the audience is invited to live the time of the work. The programming crosses circus with other languages and occupies performance halls and unexpected places in the territory, activating them as spaces of presence. LEME also pays attention to emerging artists, accompanying their processes, and reserves moments of encounter and reflection among professionals. The organization is by 23 Milhas, Município de Ílhavo, with Bússola.
