Lugar das Cores

About

O Lugar das Cores is the anchor event of the Christmas celebrations in Albergaria-a-Velha. It takes place in the urban centre and brings together shows, family activities and the presence of Father Christmas, with the idea of celebrating Christmas traditions and bringing life to the city during the festive season. The event brings together street food, handicrafts and local associations, which strengthens traditional commerce and provides a platform for the associative network and economic agents of the municipality. The programme also includes spaces for creating gifts and decorations and storytelling moments, designed for children and families. Christmas 2026 also features a giant illuminated interactive Christmas ball, the first visible piece of the Aldeia de Natal project. The municipal authority wants it to be a space for meeting and discovery, involving parishes, associations, schools and local commerce.
