About

Naïssam Jalal is a Franco-Syrian flautist, vocalist and composer. She leads four groups and has released ten albums, performing regularly on major stages in France and abroad. In Espinho she presents Landscapes of Eternity, an album released in 2026 that connects music, nature and spirituality through Indian classical music, with special attention to the landscapes of northern India. The repertoire was born from several months she spent travelling alone through India in search of the essence of Hindustani music. She studied with bansuri master Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and used ragas as a starting point for intimate and contemplative music, where improvisation plays a central role. The instrumentation brings contemporary aesthetics together with the language of Indian classical music. She takes the stage with Leonardo Montana (piano), Zaza Desiderio (drums) and Flo Comment (tanpura). The concert is part of the jazz cycle at Auditório de Espinho and is aimed at those who enjoy jazz and world music.
