O Amor é Assim

About

"Love is Like This" is a farce, a Portuguese adaptation of "Run for Your Wife" by Ray Cooney, one of the great successes of comedy theatre, with nine consecutive years on stage in London's West End and performances in more than 50 countries. Joaquim Baião leads an apparently exemplary life: organized, punctual and methodical, he keeps secret two houses, two routines and two women, Bárbara and Prazeres. Everything works until a small unexpected event shakes the balance. What follows are lies upon lies, unexpected phone calls, curious neighbours, persistent police officers and a friend incapable of sustaining a coherent story. João Baião stars and directs, with Fernando Gomes, a cast that includes Cristina Oliveira, Mané Ribeiro, Luís Garcia, João Frizza, João Lopes and Susana Cacela. It is a farce at a fast pace, designed for those who enjoy comedy of misunderstandings. Entry is permitted from age 3 onwards.
