The Miolo – Festival of Literature and Thought occupies the Municipal Library of Santa Maria da Feira for three days, with public conversations about literature and contemporary thought. In its second edition, the program expands to include science, the arts and research. The first edition, held in September 2026, brought together established and emerging writers, philosophers, national and international journalists, designers, illustrators, teachers, librarians and artists. The festival featured names such as Gonçalo M. Tavares, Dulce Maria Cardoso, Clara Usón, Gilles Lipovetsky, Carlos Fiolhais and Isidro Ferrer, author of the festival's graphic design, as well as the musical project Lavoisier. It is a festival for readers and for those who enjoy debating, questioning and reflecting on the current world, with themes and speakers from many different fields. The first edition ended with a full house and led to this second edition, which continues the municipality's history in literature and thought.
