O Principezinho
About
The Capoeira – Companhia de Teatro de Barcelos adapts Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's classic in a puppet show designed for children and families. The story begins in the Sahara Desert, where a pilot, after an airplane breakdown, meets a little prince who has come from an asteroid. The prince tells him about his travels across other planets, his encounters with lonely adults, and his relationship with a vain rose that he left behind. On Earth, it is the fox who explains to him what it means to "tame" and the value of bonds and responsibility. The adaptation and direction are by Tiago Ferreira, with performances by Leandro Covinha and Pedro Rodrigues. The puppets were built by Lukas Fantoches and Anastasiia Katsan. It speaks of friendship, love and loss, and the idea that one only sees clearly with the heart, placing the innocence of childhood against the complexity of the adult world.
