Closing concert of the Autumn Festivals 2026, dedicated to water and the sea. The Orquestra das Beiras joins the Orquestra Sinfónica of the Department of Communication and Art at the University of Aveiro, conducted by Luís Carvalho, in a programme conceived as a single orchestral cycle. The journey spans three visions of the ocean: Britten's Four Sea Interludes, which explore the psychological force of the sea; O Sotaque Azul das Águas by Luís Tinoco, on the depth of the ocean and the cultural unity of peoples; and La Mer by Debussy, the greatest expression of musical impressionism. The concert has UNESCO endorsement for the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) and proposes a sensory listening experience that celebrates the connection between humanity, the Earth and life. It is aimed at those who enjoy orchestral music, but also at those who wish to discover it.
