The workshop "Human Figure and Art Nouveau Language" is guided by Miguel Correia and proposes five drawing sessions dedicated to the human figure. It takes place on Saturdays at Casa Dr. Lourenço Peixinho, in Aveiro, and is part of the Cultural Programme of the Rectory of the University of Aveiro. The course starts with free gesture and progresses towards figure construction, passing through the study of volume, chiaroscuro, simplification and stylization. Model drawing intersects with natural elements, ornamentation and the observation of Art Nouveau architecture in Aveiro. The question that guides the sessions is how the organic and ornamental language of Art Nouveau can inspire new ways of drawing the body. Participation is free, by registration.
