和・Oneness is a concert by pianist and composer Yuki Rodrigues, a Portuguese-Japanese artist, bringing together Portuguese and Japanese musicians in a musical dialogue between the two cultures. Born in Osaka and based in Portugal since her teenage years, Yuki returned to the stage in 2023 as a composer and performer of her piano compositions, after a right hand injury interrupted her career for nearly two decades. The programme combines piano, violin, Wadaiko (traditional Japanese drum), transverse flute and bilingual recitation, performed by Diogo Divagações. The title, which joins the Japanese character for "harmony" with the English word for unity, captures the essence of the show: bringing different musical traditions together on the same stage. The concert is part of the Open Week celebrating the 25th anniversary of Museu do Papel Terras de Santa Maria and takes place following the opening of an engraving exhibition by Japanese artist Mami Higuchi. It is an excellent choice for those who enjoy piano music, Japanese sounds or cultural encounters.
