Outonalidades
About
Catarina Carvalho Gomes is an actress and makes her debut as a singer-songwriter with the project "Novas Canções da Terra", which takes place at Espaço Café-Concerto do Cineteatro Alba, as part of the OuTonalidades cycle, a Portuguese live music circuit. The repertoire draws from traditional songbooks and the relationship with the Portuguese language, resulting from the artist's interest in theatrical and poetic text. The songs speak of mourning, fascination, solitude, generational conflict and heritage, and associate the emotional cycles of human beings with the cycles of nature. The voice is the central instrument, and the path goes through folk, indie, jazz and fado. On stage, Catarina Carvalho Gomes (composition and vocals) is accompanied by João Grilo, on piano and arrangements, and by Gonçalo Cravinho, on double bass. The concert lasts around 75 minutes and is for ages 6 and up.
