About
Perdigão Ensemble presents "From Darkness to the Clarity of Sounds" (in Latin, "De tenebris ad lucem sonorum"), a musical creation for ensemble and electronics. A new group of young performers plays original works by José Carlos Sousa and emerging composers Eva Aguilar and Marta Domingues. The show draws from acousmatic music and invites the audience to listen without seeing. It begins in darkness, which slowly dissolves into full clarity, and returns to twilight in the final ten minutes. The acoustic and electronic elements carry equal weight, and light and sound grow and fade in tandem, between sound and silence. The opening is performed by the Percussion Group of Banda Amizade. The concert, without an interval, is part of the 22nd edition of the Autumn Festivals of Universidade de Aveiro, dedicated to the theme "Música +".
