About
"From Longing to Freedom" is a concert of music and spoken word that brings together Quarteto Parnaso, a guitar ensemble, and narrator Estefânia Surreira. It is part of the CAA Autumn Festivals in Águeda. The show is born from "Cinco Zecas", a recreation of José Afonso's work for guitar quartet, and expands to other names in Portuguese music: Carlos Paredes, Madredeus and Armandinho. Among the pieces, poetry spoken by Estefânia Surreira connects the themes and accompanies the journey that gives the concert its title, from longing to freedom. It is a proposal for those who enjoy Portuguese guitar and songs that are part of collective memory, and also for those who want to discover these authors in an instrumental format, with text dialoguing with the music.
