Que palácio é este? Memórias da indústria cerâmica da Pampilhosa
About
"What palace is this?" is an exhibition marking the 140th anniversary of the foundation of the Devesas ceramic factory branch in Pampilhosa. The title comes from a question that many train passengers asked when they saw the large factory building, without realizing it was an industrial unit. The exhibition brings together photographs, drawings, documents and objects provided by archives, institutions and private individuals. It includes materials from the Municipal Archive of Gaia, a double bass linked to the old Fábrica Velha band, now kept by Filarmónica Pampilhosense, and pieces that were not part of the museum's collection. It also features the raw materials that fed the furnaces, such as sawdust and wood shavings. The oral memory of former workers holds a central place. During the exhibition, there will be moments of interviews with former workers, who will speak about manufacturing processes. It is a good visit for those who want to know the industrial history of Pampilhosa and what it left in the life of the land.
