About
Pintar a Música is a project by QCContemporâneo, a string quintet formed by António Ramos, Clara Ramos, Diana Antunes, Clara Dias and Rogério Peixinho, that brings together contemporary Portuguese music and live painting. While the quintet plays, plastic artist João Sobreira creates his images in real time, projected for the audience. The programme brings together four works commissioned by Ritornello – Associação Cultural from Portuguese composers: "Komorebi", by Sara Carvalho, inspired by light; "Entwine", by João Pedro Oliveira, which explores sound duality; "Corais do Monte", by Amílcar Vasques-Dias, which draws from Alentejo singing; and "Encircled by Kandinsky", by Ana de Ataíde Magalhães, linked to the visual universe of the Russian painter. The concert, without intermission, is part of the 22nd edition of the Autumn Festivals of the University of Aveiro, dedicated to the theme "Música +" and the relationships between music and other arts. It is aimed at ages 6 and over.
