"GLÜLT" is the new solo by Rui Paixão, an artist from Ovar who works in the art of clowning. Following a world premiere in Lyon, as part of La Nuit du Cirque, the show arrives in Portugal precisely in the city that the creator considers his home. In this work, developed over approximately one year, Rui Paixão seeks to distil the clown to its purest state: a refined, stylized and deeply physical form. Through movement, body expression and direct interaction with the audience, the solo explores laughter and human vulnerability, with freedom of expression and the role of humour in this process as a backdrop. It is a proposal for contemporary clowning, described by the artist himself as fierce and provocative, with a central objective: to make people laugh. After Ovar, the show goes on tour across the country in 2027.
