About
The Paper Museum in Paços de Brandão marks 25 years with an Open Week dedicated to the memory of the paper industry, to the community and to dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation. On October 17, the documentary A Life Recycling Paper by Eric Parijs, filmed in 2000 at the former Paper Factory of the Terra Brothers, is screened with subtitles in over 30 languages and in Portuguese Sign Language, with the filmmaker's presence. This is followed by a guided visit with live paper production. On October 25, the engraving exhibition The Moment / Fragment Paths by Mami Higuchi opens, and there is a concert by Yuki Rodrigues with Portuguese and Japanese artists, featuring piano, violin, Wadaiko, flute and bilingual recitation. On October 26, the museum's anniversary, Forminhas, the museum's mascot, visits schools in the parish to create a "25 years leaf" and a time capsule to be opened in 2051. On October 31, the second edition of The Paper Industry in Paços de Brandão and Terras de Santa Maria by Maria José Ferreira dos Santos is presented. Free admission, with prior registration.
