SHORTCUTZ OVAR

About

Shortcutz Ovar is a cycle of Portuguese short films reaching its 10th season. Each session brings together national films in official competitive selection, and the filmmakers present their works. This is followed by a conversation with the audience, moderated by Tiago Alves, the project's programmer. Shortcutz Ovar has existed since 2017 and is part of the municipality's cultural programming. Sessions take place at the School of Arts and Crafts, with the support of Ovar City Council, and are part of a network of short film cycles with the same name. At the end of the season, a jury and the public vote on the award-winning films. It is a good gateway to Portuguese short-form cinema, especially for those who enjoy hearing the filmmakers speak about their creative process. This season includes a session dedicated to the 60th anniversary of "Mudar de Vida" by Paulo Rocha. Sessions and films for each will be announced as they are released.
