Auto da Barca do Inferno is theatre for those who are still in school, and for those who have already left it. Even in sleep he finds no rest: in his dream Gil Vicente himself appears to him, the father of Portuguese theatre, convinced that his play deserves a second chance. And that Leonardo does too. This is the second production in the Teatro Escolar series, by the company Razões Pessoais. The series draws from the dramatic texts in the Portuguese language curriculum and blends the history of the plays with that of the teachers who teach them and the students who learn them. For many, the first encounter with a dramatic text, the first visit to the theatre and the first time performing in theatre happen at school, and this is where the series begins. The performance lasts 60 minutes, with no interval, and is classified for ages 12 and over.
