Uma história partilhada: Devesas e Pampilhosa
140 anos de património, trabalho e memória
About
Exhibition marking the 140th anniversary of the Devesas Branch in Pampilhosa, the historic ceramic factory established in 1886, today in ruins. The exhibition connects the building to the village's people and addresses heritage, work and collective memory. The collection brings together artefacts preserved over decades by GEDEPA (Ethnographic Group for the Defence of Heritage and Environment of the Pampilhosa Region) and by some private individuals. It also includes material from the 150th anniversary exhibition of Fábrica das Devesas in Gaia, provided by the Municipal Archive of Gaia, images and drawings by local authors and a double bass from the former factory band, now part of the Filarmónica da Pampilhosa's collection. Throughout the exhibition period, other initiatives are planned, including testimonies from former factory workers. Guided visits can be arranged through GEDEPA or the Junta de Freguesia da Pampilhosa. This is a visit designed for those who wish to learn about the village's industrial heritage and the significance of ceramics in its identity.
