Verity

About

Verity is a psychological thriller directed by Michael Showalter, based on Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel. Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett lead the cast. Lowen Ashleigh is a writer facing financial difficulties who accepts an unusual invitation. She agrees to work as ghostwriter for Verity Crawford, a successful author who became incapacitated following a serious car accident and can no longer finish her book series alone. She moves into the couple's home, invited by the husband, Jeremy, to study notes and manuscripts. Among them she discovers disturbing autobiographical notes, and the line between fiction and reality begins to blur. This is a film for those who enjoy thrillers with family secrets and mounting tension, and for those who read the book and want to see how it was adapted to the screen. This is the first of two screenings at Cineteatro Anadia.
